Sir Kibble The anthem was written during the War of 1812 not the Revolutionary War. The poem was written by Francis Scott Key while captured aboard a British ship. The poem was a written reaction of seeing the US still under control of Fort McHenry hence "that our flag was still there."﻿

I felt the same way. After it was finished playing, my mind was blank for a few seconds. The first thought I had  after that was "These people truly love their country, and they proudly stand behind it". I feel the same about my country, the USA. My second thought was "I want everyone to be able to put aside their differences, work together, and feel the same sense of unity this Hymn/Anthem gives off, and for everyone to be able to be proud of the country they came from."﻿

I'm Indian but this is the best national anthem ever, along with la marseillas of france, 

I hope Russia & India become close friends again like in the past, when Russia helped India from the American threat of  nuclear bomb, during Bangladesh liberation war. 

Also Russia is the only country , which caused the defeat of both Napoleon & Hitler, thanks t the heroic  & patriotic russians who fought without care for their  lives & saved their motherland.

Thank you, you are right, Russia everytime helps when it's need. Just once we had suck :( when Yugoslavia was bombed, and personally me sorry about. I love India, and Indian culture and history, and in Russia Buddhism and Krishnaism very popular, same as Indian cinema and culture. Russians and Indians are not materialists firstly, the soul is our main.﻿

+Mister Sister Fister so essentially if a country produced a single bad person that ends up killing people it's the country's fault? I'm sorry, but Stalin existed and reigned nearly 70 years ago, and while I do believe that Russia is in a bad state, it's not nearly as bad as it was when Stalin was ruling. Russia doesn't have capital punishments, while America does. Do you know what other countries still support the death penalty? Well, we have such vacation resorts as Pakistan, North Korea, and a few other insane extremist countries leftover from the 20th century. It's not Russia's fault Stalin was produced because that's not a moral or immoral choice, he ascended to victory after he killed Trotsky and was put into supreme command. Nobody had any say, but bear in mind this happened over 70 years ago, almost two generations. Today, there are democratic elections for who rules over the Russian Federation, and I believe Russia is by far morally superior than the U.S. in some aspects, and far less morally superior in other aspects. And what's this about Iceland? Iceland is like 50% anarchistic now, i doubt their current government will even last through the 21st century. ﻿
