Behind The Headline tackles issues the corporate-owned, mainstream media sweep under the rug or explain only in terms that benefit powerful, monied interests.

We expose the dangers of the national security state, the military-industrial complex, and the corporations that are hijacking democracy and destroying the planet.

We highlight the human costs of war.

We amplify the voices of those who are usually silenced by the media, like activists for peace and inclusion, government whistleblowers, and third-party presidential candidates who prioritize the needs and interests of people and the environment.

Today, just six corporations control over 90 percent of what Americans see, hear and read. The entities the media should be holding accountable, are the same entities that own the media. The teeth of the corporate media have been dulled, and they’re no longer a watchdog, but a lapdog.

The corporate media may have lost its teeth, but we’re citizen-supported, independent journalists -- we don’t owe anyone anything except the truth.
